Episode two of Made In Latin America is out now: Deciphering Pictographs.
This seven-part series, produced in partnership with SDCelar at the British Museum, continues to bring Latin American heritage into sharp focus. In this episode, we explore how Indigenous pictographs – images and symbols from pre-Hispanic manuscripts – are interpreted, understood, and given voice today.
Through conversations with curators and researchers, we look at how these visual texts challenge Western ideas of history, knowledge, and authorship. It’s a deep dive into the act of reading – when there are no words.
With layered sound design and immersive storytelling, this episode continues the series’ commitment to decolonial perspectives and fresh scholarship. If you missed it, you can catch up on episode one: The Tonindeye Codex.
