We’re back on the road with SDCELAR at the British Museum for Season 3 of Made in Latin America! This time, the team crossed borders—literally—on a journey through the US/Mexico borderlands, asking big questions about migration, memory, and museum practices.
When the SDCELAR team mentioned this research trip, we knew we had to bring the mics. We joined them in capturing the journey: from airports and highways to roadside motels and art spaces. The result is a vibrant audio-travelogue that blends location sound with reflection, critique, and lived experience.
This teaser is your first glimpse of what’s to come—a season that trades the studio for the open road. Expect layered stories, sonic textures, and powerful voices encountered along the way.
🎧 Our Role
As producers, we supported this season with location sound recording and post-production, weaving real-world audio into the narrative. The field recordings were central—capturing not just what was said, but where it was said. Our job was to shape the acoustic landscape of the borderlands so listeners could travel alongside the team.
🧠 Why It Matters
This season offers a rare behind-the-scenes perspective on museum research in motion. Rather than theorising from afar, it captures knowledge being built in real time—on foot, in cars, at kitchen tables. Made in Latin America: On The Road invites us to hear the journey, not just the destination.
