In Season 2’s second episode of Made in Latin America, Argentinian writer, journalist, and activist Gabriela Cabezón Cámara brings to life an extraordinary pocket-sized artifact—an amulet made of Wichí leather, filled with roots and leaves, used for love, health, protection, fertility, and guidance.
From her base in Buenos Aires, Gabriela recounts her visit to the Wichí community in Argentina’s Gran Chaco, reflecting on how the amulet’s quiet presence in the British Museum’s collection stirred questions about care, caretaking, and cultural survival open.spotify.com+12podcasts.apple.com+12podcasts.apple.com+12.

Our Role
As producers, we partnered with SDCELAR to create a production process capable of handling a multilingual, multicontinental series. For this episode, that meant coordinating remote recordings with Gabriela in Buenos Aires alongside our hosts and London-based studio crew. Our team ensured clean, warm audio, seamless transitions between environments, and a soundscape that foregrounded Gabriela’s voice and cultural context.
Why It Matters
At the core of Season 2’s mission—Volver a contar or “To Tell Again”—is the invitation to re‑illuminate museum objects through the lens of descendants and community interpreters. Gabriela’s episode reminds listeners that each object carries relationships, histories, and living meaning beyond display.
